Well we finally got this one off the ground before the end of the cancel-culture year that was 2020. The weather was all over the place: wind, rain, sunshine. It all made for a stern test, for which many teams stood up. Steve even says it's now his favourite course!
Here are some of the highlights/lowlights from the weekend:
Getting 20 players on the park in a tough logistical year. Very happy.
(Looked like 19 players when Teaser waited for us all to turn up to Portsea GC)
JB, Brett, Jim P, Frase & George back beach beers on Friday "Chairman's Evening"
The new grey caps with numbers
Michelle our official photographer... best set of PM photos yet
$400 funds raised for Little St Margarets Kinder
Top notch quality of golf for most (sorry Jim G & Pete - not your day)
You can see the final leaderboard attached. Here are some quick stats from the day:
Best First 9 (Gross): 37 [2 Over] (Runda/Teaser)
Best Second 9 (Gross): 37 [2 Over] (Runda/Teaser)
A PM First - No nines & only one eight scored for the day (Brett/Wal)
Five Birdies this year:
3rd [Par 3] (Runda/Teaser) (Lyndo/Karl)
10th [Par 4] (Pete/Jim)
13th [Par 4] (Runda/Teaser)
18th [Par 4] (Runda/Teaser)
Hardest Holes: Hole 7 (Par 3 water carry) and Hole 15 (Long Par 4 with Ocean View)
Easiest Holes: Hole 3 (Long Par 3 elevated tee) and Hole 18 (Short Par 4 Dogleg)
Best score 'Off the Stick': 74 [4 Over] (New Record - beating James/Wal in 2019)
Average Net Score for the day: 68 [2 Under] (First time it has been under)
Average Score 'Off the Stick': 84 [14 over]
The Meat Tray Winners: Karl & Jim Gaylard
Great work by all, and thanks to all of my helpers & cleaners over the weekend - it is very much appreciated! We'll be back at Cape Schanck again next year - most likely early October just after daylight savings kicks in - JB
