From the moment we all stepped into the clubhouse in our white pants, the Portsea Golf Club knew they were hosting something special. The weather threatened early, but in true PM fashion, it was a serene Spring/Winter (Sprinter?) day.
Here are some of the highlights from the weekend:
The Beanies - I had my doubts, but happy to see their popularity!
Portsea Hotel - the big table. Oysters Kilpatricks & Panhead IPAs
The selection of classic mens interest magazines at Martins Lane
Brett's Grand Marnier
The Ashes coverage
A new record of $720 raised for charity
The Round 23 Gallery at Portsea GC Clubhouse
The Butterscotch Schnapps... a winner in the absence of Port?
The team shirts and white pants - simply superb.
7 teams within 4 shots of each other.
The introduction of Stevie's BBQ competitor - PT Burger!
Dougie and his bloody fireworks
You can see the final leaderboard attached. Here are some quick stats from the day:
Best First 9: 39 [3 Over] (James/Wally) (SOB/Justin)
Best Second 9: 37 [2 Over] (James/Wally)
And a PM First - no team scored worse than 8 on any hole!

Great work by all, and thanks to all of my helpers & cleaners over the weekend - it is very much appreciated! Next year it's a brand new course on the Peninsula, and most likely a Sorrento Hotel Dinner - watch this space! - JB
