23 Weeks to Go

On the eve of AFL's Round 1, it's a neat reminder that the Masters is just a regular season away. Held every year on the weekend of the final Home & Away weekend, it's starting to rival the great PGA Majors.

This year it's a 10.44am start on Saturday 26 August at the Rosebud Country Club. The 24-seater Tour Bus will be back this year to take everyone from Martins Lane to the course, so hopefully everyone can stay on Friday night to make things simple, and stay on for Saturday night's festivities.

This year we're celebrating the great Pro Wrestling Tag-teams over the years. As per usual, I'll be allocating team names, but if you are particularly keen on one Tag Team, let me know and I'll do what I can... but not everyone can be D-Generation X or the Hart Foundation!

Total participation numbers will be capped at 24 from 2017 onwards. This is based around keeping the competition even, accommodation requirements and beating the early Winter sunsets. Unfortunately this means some player rotation as foundation players and the injured become available again.

One of the new competitions being introduced this year will be the Meat Tray sweepstakes. There'll be two $50 meat trays up for grabs - all you need to do to win is pick one of the tournament winners out of a hat at the commencement of the Masters. The sweepstakes will add a bit of spice & also some more dollars for charity.

If you haven't started practicing - now's the time to dust of the mashies & niblicks and get your game going! - JB
